.UPDATE...
Air Quality Section Updated

&&

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Warming trend into next week.

2. A warmer system slides into Northern California with
precipitation in the northern portions of the Sierra Nevada
through Wednesday morning. Snow levels will rise to 9,500 to
10,000 feet by Wednesday morning.

3. A Marginal Risk (at least 5%) for excessive rainfall exists
on Tuesday for the Sierra Nevada and into the foothills for
areas north of Tulare County

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures are expected to continue warming up through the
next week, with a ridge building into the southwest. Along with
the ridge, a trough off the west coast that is expected to
impact Northern California may bring in light to moderate
precipitation to the northern half of our Sierra Nevada
mountains, mainly Fresno County northwards, from Monday night
through Wednesday. The area likely to receive the most amount
of rainfall is Yosemite NP, with 1-2 inches possible through the
event, though the is a 10% chance for 2-3 inches in the worst
case scenario. The Weather Prediction Center has also issued a
marginal risk (at least 5%) for excessive rainfall on Tuesday
due to these possible rain totals.

After this system moves out of our area, the high pressure
ridge will continue to sit over the southwest CONUS, leading to
a continued warming trend and above normal temperatures through
the next weekend. The Climate Prediction Center also maintains
likely above normal temperatures and leaning below normal
precipitation through the next 14 days.
